A while ago I asked people here whether they use Lemmy or Reddit. The results got me thinking: even among people who already use and like the Fediverse, Lemmy seems to be surprisingly small.
So I wrote about why that might be & why I think Lemmy deserves more users.

@byte21516 i wonder if it's gotten easier to self-host. i know i tried it before but that was a long while ago. i'll have to try again.
edit: so there's a nixos service for it. no reason for me not to try again!
