Pixelfed.social users: You can now migrate your followers to other fediverse servers!
If you want full account migration, that is coming later this year, and may be worth waiting for if you have a lot of content and interactions you want to preserve.
Regardless, you should have full control over where you want to make your home!
We have a ton of updates coming, and will understand if you decide to migrate, because we're always connected with #ActivityPub ️

@apps@toot.fedilab.app I agree, although right now it would be enough for me if the different platforms could communicate with each other. For example, a report from Lemmy doesn't reach Mastodon, and vice versa... This is the most pressing issue today, and if we could do it with Activitypub, it would not only be useful, but also "nice."

@apps ActivityPub's Follow activity is intended to be used on actors: https://www.w3.org/TR/activitypub/#follow-activity-outbox.This is one of the reasons I proposed that "observer" actor. Another option is to use a custom activity (e.g. Watch).

@elgg Not underestimating, I am just trying to understand how it works. Judging by outbox contents, it is not a FEP-1b12 group. Looks like an announce-bot to me, but then, how do you achieve privacy? Private Announces?

@silverpill @tetrus I don't think it's only for Linux. Any system in the BSD family should be able to use it, as long as they can install Node.js and Rust.I tested it on an OpenBSD virtual machine, and it works fine.

@gabboman @admin @Eeveecraft @jb I'm suspicious of them, but considering that I'm effectively connect via cell phone, I have my doubts that even if VPNs are real, they're going to do much for me
