Do you know if there's a stable JS client? The npm versions are an absolute mess of nightlies.

And do you recall them saying 1.0 would be v3 backwards compatible? I swear I read that in one of the release notes.

Nope, there is a post explaining the breaking changes going from v3 to v4.
