Like Pixelfed and PeerTube, Loops is in a weird spot of technically being very very good, but lacking dedicated people to make media specifically for it.
I think these platforms would benefit tremendously by aggressively courting the creators on YouTube and Tiktok and Instagram Reels to try creating stuff on the Fediverse.
While it's true that the Big Platforms have a massive hold over online creators when it comes to financial incentive, I still think there's some worthwhile things we can do.
Ask Big Creators what tools / features they need specifically. Is posting on the Fediverse as easy for them as simply having an API their tools can hook into, like Buffer does for scheduled posts? Is adding a new platform a matter of friction, or is the friction more related to engaging with yet another part of the Web?
Get some rough numbers on how much creators make on a monthly or even quarterly basis from posting. I know some people make a substantial amount month over month just by making videos for Tiktok. We don't really have a comparable thing on our end, but knowing these metrics might still be useful.
Figure out how to onboard video makers and their followers onto the Fediverse at the same time. Do you get a handful of creators to commit to a launch date in the future, or get people to agree to mirror their stuff somewhere? I feel like getting mutuals onto the same network at the same time is an under-explored aspect of Fediverse Advocacy.

@deadsuperhero Without a creator fund and click and pay sponsorship opportunities, it’s never going to attract the same type of content.
One area that has a chance is NSFW content. Banned from big socials, they could setup shop on their own PeerTube or Loops instance and have specific content paywalled. Or maybe this already exists?
Selling these platforms as content backups, a place to point fans if their content gets moderated / banned might work, too.

@box464@mastodon.social Interesting points! Yeah, I absolutely agree, a simple mechanism to support / pay creators is essential, even if it's just an instance-wide pool of monthly donations that pays out to creators somehow.
Interestingly, there is such a plugin for premium paid content on PeerTube. The downside is that it only works on PeerTube itself, and only works with an in-app Stripe transaction. So you can't, say, offer a Patreon-style reward somewhere else, and instantly know which handles to automatically grant video access to upon receiving payment.
I think CrowdBucks could actually make this possible, by combining their functionality with this plugin somehow. There would just need to be a way to automatically dispatch access to Premium videos by getting the Webfinger handle during payment.

@deadsuperhero @box464 @reiver By the way, the latest version of Mitra doesn't require Monero wallet for subscriptions. This means other payment methods can be used, although some glue code would be necessary to integrate it with payment processors like Stripe.
I am not familiar with PeerTube but maybe links to private videos can be distributed in subscribers-only posts.
