Meh. Not a surprise to anyone watching from the sidelines that version 1.0 shows some flaws. There’s a reason I wouldn’t buy anyone’s first swing at a foldable.
At least they’ve got a stellar engineering team. I’d expect future iterations to be solid.

A bit unexpected this isn't the first generation these devices have existed and manufacturers have a lot of experience. People think Apple is doing everything by themselves but they mostly slap together parts from different manufacturers. Or they really screwed it up.

No one cares about a crease outside the first 10 minutes of owning a foldable

It's really embarrassing to be honest.

This isn't some new tech. Companies have been making foldables for years now without this issue.

What's the point of foldable devices, really? All I want is to have smaller devices with jack port and changeable batteries.

Yes.
without this issue
No. ALL foldables get a crease, it's inevitable and why folding phones are for idiot bougies.

It's not that the creases are forming too quickly, cracks are forming and white pixels are showing. (read the article)

Tasks as trivial as filling up a pdf document become many times more doable on the inner display than a standard phone.

Apple waited several years to release their take on the Galaxy Fold…. Supposedly because they wanted to get it right from the first gen. Mind you - the Duo is using a Samsung display too

As always, in Apple you pay (expensive) Apple productsfor design and brand, not for quality or performance. Foldable phones in Samsung and others not a problem. with it you have a smartphone convertible to an Tablet, usefull for some tasks, but not with bad quality following an hype. Apple products are made for Apple and acttionists, not for the user.

You want a foldable phone? This is all you need.

They don't make phones like this anymore. Look at that black and gold drip. 🤩

It does seem awfully early to hear this much about it.
