I'm all for sharing a social media network with everybody, just like we do on the web. But the administration should have to run their own social media server like they do their own website. That's how it would work on fedi. But on BS, the company is effectively helping Trump do PR. And they still currently get to decide who gets access to basically their entire network (see Link etc).

Hate to break it to you, but they could easily setup shop on any server here & booting them would likely not end well for that admin.

For what it's worth, a single user on a PDS is something like fractions of a cent per month, like $0.001 or $0.0001 per month or less. So the argument of "funding" doesn't really hold water.

Those accounts are already some of the most blocked accounts on the network.

Being a server admin in an authoritarian regime is a dangerous place to be: moderate against the regime and they could quite literally make your life and all the lives of people you love a living hell.
