@andypiper where do they talk about this trusted feed? is it just a feed of users local to w and thus id verified or something else?

Some relevant updates.
Between March 26 and 29, we had the AtmosphereConf in Vancouver. People from W Social and Eurosky were there, and they even did presentations.
I feel like W Social relationship with Atproto devs is more amicable now, compared to their first impression, which wasn't that good.
During the conference, Eurosky announced they will take the infrastructure path, not building a social media themselves, but instead offering the infrastructure for European builders (for both atproto and activity pub btw).Eurosky presentation: https://atmosphereconf.org/event/ja4ooAa
W Social lightning talk: https://atmosphereconf.org/event/000WSocial
Both links have video recording available bellow the description.

You can kinda think of Blacksky's app as a truly different instance of Bluesky, if that helps understand it in fediverse terms (though it's not a perfect translation since both protocols have very different approaches to infrastructure).
Blacksky started as a community and safe space for black people inside Blueksy, they started as a feed and moderation service. But today they are much bigger than that. They have their own app totally independent from Blueksy but it is compatible with communicating with people using Blueksy.
Their app started as a fork from Bluesky's but they are expanding and exploring different features for some time already (like having a way that a post is only visible on Blacksky and Blacksky users, pronouns displayed for everyone, and are now developing integration with long-format blog posts that already exist on atproto).
They also launched Acorn, which is a super toolkit for communities to have a similar structure as they have (app branding, moderation, statistics…) with less friction of building from zero.

They are less reluctant to say they are using atproto now because they even showed up to the atproto conference back in March
This other reply of mine has more info and valuable video footage of W Social's lightning talk at the conference

@_elena wasn't the fact they are building on top of AT-proto know for a long time...?
-
@_elena I really appreciate that you also take a look at Eurosky. I think that the people from Eurosky are doing it right. Although I had preferred if the Fediverse was in the focus, I do understand their decision to have chosen the Atmosphere instead. I would love to have not only European PDS and European relay servers but also an European AppView.
-
-
@heluecht @_elena Yes I know this. There is also a list of relays that are active, just don’t find the link right now. Including some in Germany. There are als many Apps, so no harm if someone blocks you from their AppView. Event the official BlueSky Mobile App supports Eurosky and other PDS, or just use any other App.
-
@_elena @juergen When the people from Bluesky decide to block you from their AppView, then you are cut off. AFAIK there is currently only the AppView from the people from Blacksky as an alternative.
Different apps don't help, because they need to talk to an AppView server and your PDS. And the PDS needs AppView for the message flow.

@heluecht excellently said Michael.
My next deep dive will be into Bluesky PBC's and ATproto's "open washing"
There's the issue of AppViews, moderation and also verification. the Eurosky folks are constantly begging Bluesky for help with user verification (see screenshot proof in my reply from 2 days ago): https://mastodon.social/@_elena/116540350330383085

@juergen @_elena Thanks Jurgen for the clarification, i have to admit i understand the sovereign issue of BlueSky - but it seems to run over any AT Protocol instance also - and i dont really understand that. The questions must be 1. if AT Protocol can run without BlueSky (as they are the founder) and 2. Where is data located - and here i understand that WSocial and EuroSky are working on this.
