It basically only works if you ignore the carrying capacity rules which are a more general rule, so tho you could argue you can stack infinite amount of centaurs, the bottom one cannot carry infinite amount of mass. It's a 'gotcha' only if you don't know the broader rule or if you're not making a good faith argument. However I appreciate it as super funny concept and a great example

Also, the 'centaur tower' interpretation came from 'Unearthed Arcana' which is basically D&D's 'experimental' branch, and never made it to the full release, but that's kinda boring.

@makary One of the joys and challenges of playing TTRPGs is having players who want their character to be a bronze dragon that is also a centaur tower that has howitzers for hands but somehow is also a level 1 druid.
