@blog@shkspr.mobi Such a great read. Thank you for the thoroughness. I loved this. We need a new way to measure the #smallSocial effect. Right now people saw we fail because they only look at one platform. #BigTech had to invent "monthly active users" to help people understand their "value". They're trying to measure us the same, but we're nowhere near the same. We're an evolution and no one will ever truly know how many of us there are. So I beg folks, don't look at one or two or three instances and say that because some arbitrary number goes down that we're losing or dieing. No no no. We're growing and learning and finding ways that Big Tech NEVER wanted to exist. Just because they use a yard stick doesn't mean we need to be constrained by that. @informapirata Sono diventati veramente ridicoli.. su uno dei post c'era persino una locandina fatta alla meglio e peggio con l'AI di ragazzo bianco in abbigliamento edile e il solito slogan, come se le donne non esistessero.. e in un tessuto sociale come il loro multietnico e che dovrebbero includere tutti, ancora con queste cazzate "retrograde" del solo uomo bianco. C'è veramente sono oltre il penoso.. non mi sorprende che li bloccano tutti.

@wjmaggos There is a problem with the Barnes and Noble analogy. Yes, if you are on mastodon.social and they ban you, you will lose your data. But if you are on hachyderm and mastodon.social blocks you, you don't lose you data (and you can still be seen by the rest of the Fedi). In the analogy, it's like the later case. As long as you trust your server provider your data is fine. It's the same for both network protocols.
