The host replied to me 6 hours ago and said the instance admin:
- cancelled service
- is the only one who can restore
- has not agreed to offers

If you are impacted I highly recommend joining an instance listed on https://joinmastodon.org/servers as they are all bound to the server covenant ("give users at least 3 months of advance warning in case of shutting down")

@ndrwy I've been patiently waiting for med-mastodon to come back online and just found your update. I am so disappointed and sad that med-mastodon is history. I was on it since 2022. Thank you for letting us know. The landing site says it is down for maintenance, not that it is down forever . There was no warning whatsoever.

Sorry about #MedMastodon server going away. I posted about it on Sunday and not long after that saw posts about it being gone for good.

I didn't have a personal account on that server but our ME/CFS forum did (Science for ME)

Now I'm trying to figure out which server to use for our group's new account.

@ndrwy@zeroes.ca any possibility for a new medicine focused server? I would be honoured to provide one for the medical (and allied health) community.

Can you link me to any mods on the old server?
