Did Google cram AI into the Android keyboard?

Did Google cram AI into the Android keyboard? Bc it seems to have machine unlearned things that it used to do well previously. Predictive text was fine - I don't want some reddit-sourced AI model trying to guess what I am going to type, resulting in jumbled words I just have to delete and then re-type, but slower. Thanks Google, I hate it

cerealkella@mas.to that would be very disappointing. GBoard is definitely better than the AOSP keyboard, but if it really is cramming AI in, then I will have to unfortunately go back.
