Yeah, I can see it: they'll hide behind so-called "values" to moderate oppresively (i.e., you won't be able to call a Nazi a Nazi and so on) and they'll violate everyone's privacy for publications to be "verified". Sure. Great ideas both.

Now we're just making up platforms now.

@bedirthan Update: I was wrong, we've recently learned that it's actually on ATProto. Wish they would've led with that and given other Euro-based open platforms a shoutout.

I'm increasingly of the opinion that a lot of what is keeping critical mass from adopting ActivityPub is not talk of federation or lack of options, but rather that the activation energy (± cost) of starting a community is insurmountable to many.
