I'm thinking of considering recommending it to a local community group for hosting their videos in a non-commercial space, but they don't really have the means or capacity for self-hosting. Is joining an existing Peertube instance a viable option?

It's a shame that "oh, but the servers are in the US" has become such a valid issue these days.

It's been a stable platform for me, and is run by a chill federation/fediverse veteran.

The only reason I might discount Spectra is if it being US-hosted is disagreeable to the group.

There's a handful of well managed Peertube instances, that you can make a small donation to each year. The videos are easy to access by the entire internet.

I've got an account on MakerTube.net for example.
