SPL has been rolling out in the US for a while and usually gets sold for very wide area collects at low density, simply because you can fly so much higher. I'm not sure it really found its footing there, considering how much better/ cheaper other technologies coming from multicamera systems like vexcels have come, simply because lidar can rarely compete on price.</p>
<p dir="auto">I did a pepsi challenge using a few systems a couple years back. I think we had full waveform, SPL, and then some leica system in the mix. SPL was the loser, but in that context. It makes total sense if you need to map over a long distance but small area, fairly cheaply/ efficiently.</p>
