#Solarpunk people, electronics people: how difficult would it be to construct a solar panel controller and battery charger using only analogue electronics?

I'm working on a speculative fiction story which assumes a sudden failure of most digital electronics.

@simon_brooke relatively plausible. But. It wouldn't be as efficient.

@quixoticgeek don't care. When you have no alternative, inefficient is fine.

@simon_brooke ultimately you can connect a solar panel to a lead acid battery with just a single diode as reverse current protection. It won't be efficient. But it'll work. And a lead acid battery is pretty simple to make as long as you're not fussed about portability.
