That's the 'best' part about Broadcom, they're so unimaginably greedy that even the capex on a new infrastructure project is less than their yearly license costs!
Yeah but on the flip side it has made lots of VMware users figure out whether they really need it. I think lots of them were using it for less than objective reasons.

They’ve moved away from local groups to the Connect paid events. Pretty lame.
Seems to be a trend in the Linux world -- getting more selective and filtering people out.
