Pixels used to be mid range phones with great cameras or more precisely great image processors for mid range prices to overvalued mid range phones with outdated hardware.

Pixel is now an overpriced piece of garbage, fact. Googlebet realized selling Nexus units at basically cost for developers was a missed opportunity for more profit, no question.

Comparing these to Pixels though, which are actually complete garbage, makes no sense - the only similarity is that they will both support Graphene, and have the hardware to do so.

These lastest-gen Motorola devices are better compared to Oppo and Xiaomi - absolute TOP OF THE LINE TECH that we barely even get to see in the west unless we import stuff from China (as I did for my two phones prior to my current Pixel). So yes, they will cost more, but they are going to be REAL flagships, that will EASILY last 2-3 years. I think my last Xiaomi got me through three before I even thought about an upgrade, the way it used to be with the 'western' companies before they realized they can release garbage and get people to buy new practically every year.

I usually stay at range 40-150eur "new" for me, but it mostly used one.
I got old Nokia 3310 some years ago for hole 15 eur just in case scenario.

That's understandable. I've long been a critic of how non-customizeable phones are. I actually prefer big phones, as my eyes are bad, but different people have different needs, and it should be trivial to adjust phones accordingly.

True but there aren't that many compact phones. And the phones that are being advertised as compact used to be the normal size. I'm genuinely considering getting a Zinwa Q25 or Q27, which is a gutted blackberry.

Edit: q25 is a gutted bb classic. Q27 is a custom designed phone.

@Newhere Right now my little daughter is sitting next to me playing Toca Boca World on a phone running a modified Graphite OS. I am familiar with it. Honestly, it's a bit of a pain, and I'm normally happy enough with my ultra-budget ChiPhones. Which cost 1/4 as much and frankly do more.

It does suck for you guys that there are few options, but I like a huge phone personally. I remember back when I got a Galaxy Note 3 it was a revelation, but now it has become the default.

That's interesting, the specs for that phone say it has USB 2.0. I wonder how it works and if any USB dock would work or if this is some kind of bespoke solution.

I have one, but I've only tried with the official dock. I'll try to remember to test it out later this week to see if it works with a rando-dock.

I feel like I'm getting gaslit with the "this is a compact phone guys" knowing full well that is a normal sized current gen (or last gen) phone that most phone manufacturers are selling.

I just tested it out, and I could't get it to work. I didn't spend much time trouble-shooting it, so there may be a simple fix, but that is kinda disappointing.

No it isn't. GrapheneOS is directly based on AOSP, so it includes everything AOSP does. GOS devs have made it clear they want you to use gestures, and they only include the navbar at all because it's still in AOSP.

Inverted navbar is in wide a range of other AOSP custom ROMs, because those developers chose to incorporate it. But it isn't in AOSP by default.

It's an accurate take on their general attitude to polite requests on their github. And the reason the requests are so excessively polite is because people are treading on eggshells due to their diva reputation - albeit, this reputation is somewhat drowned out by their fandom.

It's also not mature to downvote people just because you disagree with them.

And furthermore, the reason I use the navbar is because I want a force close long-press gesture on the back button, so I can more easily close apps and stop their background processes. To me, that's a fairly important feature for privacy and security. That's also likely a big reason Google pushed away from that, and to see GOS devs align themselves with Google in such a manner raises my eyebrow against them, at the very least.
