@morph@morphnet.de NodeBB doesn't require much memory at all. It does need maybe 1gb to build static resources.
Running it itself shouldn't need more than 500mb.

@julian That sounds good. Thanks for the info. I think I'll install NodeBB soon, and also Mitra. I got even an idea for a use case. Well ... and a potential community of 3-4 people.
And of course thanks a lot for your fascinating project and competent work for the Open Social Web at all. Ehm ... I'm not so good in compliments.
@haverholm Apologies for the typo. The weird thing is that lately I haven't been able to cut and paste things between one site and another. I don't know what that's about.

@nspsegal I'll join you in hoping!
@haverholm @davidgerard@circumstances.run Any advice on exporting Wordpress sites to an open format of some sort? I understand the "export all" function generates XML files, but how easy is it to retrieve everything from those after choosing some alternative platform? I have a small number of blog posts and some of them are precious so I've no desire to start afresh. Obviously I have the text (in Scrivener) but it's mostly about images and formatting.
@julian Oh, ho ho. That's right, I forget we can't have nice things: https://lemmy.zip/comment/23379174

Follow-up post, a review of federated CMSes that can take over long running sites before Wordpress turns to slop.
Fedi folks, I turn to you for advice with a bit of a problem. I co-admin an ActivityPub-enabled Wordpress site with 15+ years worth of blog posts and a couple of long podcast series. When WP announced [their "vision" to become a CMS for...
